Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal statue on Liberty Island in New York City, New York. It was given to the USA by France as a gift in 1886. The statue, also called Lady Liberty, is a cultural icon of America.

In Men in Black II[]

Up until Men in Black II, the statue was seen only in background shots of the first film and animated series. In the second film, the statue was shown to be a Neuralyzer which wiped the memory of all of New York City. It is implied that it was often used for this purpose in events that something large-scale occurred that necessitated neuralyzing the entirety of New York City, as K activated it when J pointed out that a large amount of people witnessed their fight against Serleena and the departure of the Light of Zartha.

Trivia[]

  • In real life, Gustave Eiffel was involved in the creation of the Statue of Liberty. In Men in Black: International, it is revealed that Eiffel was one of the first MiB agents, which probably accounts for the Statue being in fact a giant Neuralyzer.
