Rip Torn (born Elmore Raul Torn, Jr.) was an American actor of both screen and stage. He has won many awards throughout his career. He plays Chief of the MiB, Zed, in the Men in Black Films.
Having been arrested for breaking into a bank, Torn was unable to reprise the role of Zed in Men in Black III and the character was subsequently killed off.
He passed away on July 9, 2019 at the age of 88.

Trivia[]
- While he didn't show up in MIB3, Rip Torn reprised his role as Zed (along with Frank) in the Air New Zealand Safety Video. This would be his last stint as Zed, albiet non-canonical.
